Prayer by USC Prayer Chaplain Terri Brewer
Gratitude and grace go hand in hand. The more grateful we are, taking time to see God’s goodness everywhere, the more grace becomes a thread weaving its way through our lives, touching everything. We understand that God is not an entity or an identity. God… is an experience.
Taking a long, slow breath, we settle into an attitude of prayer, and openness. We open to the experience of divine consciousness, the energy of gratitude, and the relief of grace. We pause in the silence for a moment to feel them. When we begin looking through grateful eyes, things change. Even the past. Looking back through our lives, we see countless times when things worked out regardless of our errors or poor judgment. Grace was present.
We realize that we are alive in spirit, so fully alive, in a spiritual world of unlimited possibility. We need only pause for moments of gratitude throughout our day, then watch as grace fills and calms us. All is well. Amen.
