Unity's Monthly Theme, Affirmation, Scripture, and Prayer.

August

Unity Theme: Good

Unity Affirmation: Look for the good, my friend, and the good will search you out. -Foster C McClellan, Unity Minister, 1918- 1998

Unity Scripture: If there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about those things. (Philippians 4:8)

Prayer by USC Prayer Chaplain Shannon Hoff-Smith

Breathing in, centering ourselves in the fullness of Christ Consciousness, we know that all is well.

Opening to Spirit, we can see the blessings in all people and all circumstances.

Although this is often easy, at times when it seems more challenging, we remember our Power of Will.

August celebrates the silver Power of Will that allows us to direct our vision to the silver lining and our highest and best in all situations.

Through our thoughts, words, prayers, and actions, we manifest good and gratitude for all that is.

And so it is, Amen.

Unity Theme: Pause

Unity Affirmation:
Moments of pause, balance, and equilibrium are always there. Notice them.
- Robert Fish, Unity Minister and Teacher

Unity Scripture: Those who enter God's rest also cease from their labors as God did from his. (Hebrews 4:10)

Prayer by USC Prayer Chaplain Laurie Grimes

Taking a break from outer concerns, overwhelming feelings, or just a busy day, I pause in prayer to reclaim my serenity and balance.

In the stillness, I allow my breath to center and relax me, clearing my mind and filling me with peace.
I remember that God and I are one.

Wherever I am, I know the Divine Presence of God is with me and within me, restoring my soul.
And I am so grateful. Amen.

Unity Theme: Life

Unity Affirmation: The life of God is from everlasting to everlasting, and I live, move, and have my being in it. – May Rowland (1890-1977) Unity Prayer Ministry Director for 55 years

Unity Scripture: In him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your own poets have said, For we too are his offspring – Acts 17:28

Prayer by USC Prayer Chaplain:

It is time to turn our attention inward to our heart center, becoming conscious of being in a spiritual atmosphere. Taking this moment to claim our divine identity, the Christ consciousness within.

Acknowledging the flow of Good which meets our openness with abundance and care.

Knowing in all our interactions today that we are One Mind expressing as Wisdom, Order, and Joy. Because God is, we are able to be, to do, to have, and to bring about all Good in our experiences.

Knowing we are part of Infinite Oneness. “Let God be God in You. Let Love be love at the root of your being.”

With great gratitude,

Amen
