April 26th, 2020 Sunday Service Message: Twelve Powers Dyad – Love and Wisdom

The Greatest Law

This week, Rev. Joanne begins a six-part series based on the book The Twelve Freedoms1 by Unity minister Phillip Pierson.  Using The Twelve Powers of Man2, as taught by Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore, Rev. Pierson pairs the Powers into six dyads, one “active” and one “passive,” that inform and support each other.

April 19th, 2020 Sunday Service Message: Earth Day – Caretakers of the Earth

Earth:  This Is It, People!

I was born in Cleveland, OH in 1962.  I was too young at the time to remember the social unrest of the 1960s such as assassinations of politicians and civil rights leaders, or the widespread protests against the Vietnam War.  However, what I do remember is the rank and wretched pollution and stench in the city center.

Sunday Service Message February 23, 2020: The Bible: A New Look at an Old Book

It’s All in How You Look At It

I have been part of the Unity Spiritual Center congregation since 2005.  In the past 15 years, I have had conversations with many people who are curious about Unity as a movement, and what their core teachings are.  “Unity, is that like Unitarian?,” is a very common question.  This is not surprising, nor should it be taken as an indication of someone not knowing something they should.
