October colors in every shade of autumn were spectacular this year.  Thank you God for such beauty! As the leaves fall to the ground in swirling millions, we say goodbye to that wonderful month and move into the busy holiday season.  Many of us look forward to the holiday season with great trepidation.  What we really want from our soul’s point of view, is to enjoy it from a peaceful state, but we often fear getting caught in the vortex of commercialism and robbed of our peace.  So let us ground ourselves before we begin, knowing in Truth that we can enjoy the next two months and remain in peace.

When we’re asleep (spiritually unaware) we believe that life happens to us instead of realizing that we are causing the storms and we can stop them by declaring peace.  We remember the story of Jesus waking up and declaring “peace, be still.”  When we wake up to our power to create our life the way it is meant to be, we too can declare peace.  We can reach within to the wellspring of peace and bring that peace that passes understanding to every stormy situation.  That peace really truly is within every individual, deeply buried though it may seem.

First, we need to remember, that we are the creators of our lives.  Taking the tool of thought and belief, we create endless dramas with our self as the star.  Then we attract the supporting characters who act out the scripts that we have prepared and cast in our minds.  If our drama is stormy or chaotic, we can change our thought and beliefs to bring peace and harmony to the scene. 

The way to do that is to get in touch with the author of creation.  By turning to the God Mind in prayer and meditation, we rewrite our scripts from a higher perspective.  Even better, we attune to the Higher Mind and let it think its thoughts through our mind.  Then we are assured of a script that will embody peace in the midst of storm, whatever form the storm may take – over-activity, commercialism, stress, disappointment or loss. 

In Unity, we go back again and again, to the Truth that God is within us, that peace is within us, no matter what.  Find five minutes in your day today to go within and let the Creator rewrite your script incorporating large doses of peacefulness through the season ahead.  Peace!
