| Dear Unity Spiritual
Center Friends,
Sometimes managing our "spiritual life" can become
daunting like managing our financial life, relationships, and many other
things that require our attention. When you're a new Truth seeker,
having come to Unity through another faith you found lacking or through
a recovery program, it may seem like there is just too much to learn about
yourself and the world, and too little time. This even happens to
people who have been on a conscious, spiritual path for a
long time. Every new book that comes along opens up such a wealth
of ideas and new ways to live, that you barely feel like you've finished
making yourself over from the last one before it's time to grow again.
Regardless of how much we long to grow or long
to know about ourselves, or long to change in our experience, or how much
effort we put into our Truth studies, the main thing to remember is to
practice the Presence every day by simply becoming momentarily aware of
It. The experience of the Presence of God through a silent moment
of acknowledgement is the foundation of our spiritual experience.
If we can't do anything else because we're dead tired or sick or mired
in things to do, we can pause in our thoughts and be aware - of the
ever steady, ever present, ever quiet, ever gentle, ever dependable --
Presence. |
