TODAY CAN BE A NEW BEGINNING

Before moving forward, it is important to take a look over this past year.  What didn’t work or isn’t working for us any longer?  Look at what has been great and allow a feeling of gratitude to build up within our hearts and let it expand out into the universe.  I would like to recommend the following as an experience to practice as we did during our New Year’s Day service.

Begin with a prayer, from Psalms 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”  Be in the moment, meet with the God presence within, and release negative and limiting thoughts and beliefs.

Establish a new awareness of Truth within.  Recognize that we are now in the presence of pure Being, and immersed in the Holy Spirit of Life, Love and Wisdom.  Gratefully acknowledge that we are in the right place in our life and affairs.  In our Infinite Wisdom, erase our mortal limitations, and from our pure substance of love, bring into manifestation a world according to God’s perfect law.  Let this be a time of definitive work of denial and affirmation in consciousness, a cleansing of the old and an infilling of the new, through the Spirit of Truth.  We can deny any error thoughts as having any power over us. We release old behavior patterns and lay hold of our good by affirming the patterns of True thoughts that will bring the good we desire into manifestation.

The process of releasing begins with forgiveness of all injury, both real and imagined.  We recall the Truth that we are spirit, perfect, holy, and harmonious, nothing can hurt us or make us sick or afraid for God is Spirit, and God can never be sick, hurt, or afraid.  Take time in the quiet moment, to call to mind all those persons or incidents in our lives, which we need to forgive.  Allow and recognize the intensity of the emotions these memories generate in us, and we do not condemn ourselves for the way we feel.  We also do not shy away from those thoughts but face them squarely.  We choose, however, to change our injured feelings to feelings of harmony, love and peace.  Then we release these thoughts once and for all.  And, we remember, to forgive ourselves.  We have the power to change because God gave us that power and Jesus showed us the way to do it.  All we have to do is become willing to forgive, others and ourselves; then be willing to open our hearts to love.

Through affirmation, we recite, “I am willing to forgive.  I ask God’s help in learning forgiveness.”  We address those people or incidents we need to forgive and we say, “In the name, and through the power and example of Jesus Christ, I forgive you, (myself) and I ask for your forgiveness. I release any power this condition has over my life.  The forgiving love of God, the Truth of Jesus Christ now makes me free.”
Now truly, you are free from the past, the mistakes of the past and the results of past mistakes.  Know the truth and the truth makes you free.

Now, we begin with a clean slate, ready and open for all good and wonderful possibilities in our lives.
Solidify this feeling in prayer, “Dear God I am now open and receptive to the good you have for me.  I am open to new blessings in every area of my life, spiritual and physical.  I am open to new ideas of how I can become more aware of the Christ within and practice to bring it into my consciousness.  I am now open to perfect health, abundant prosperity, and guidance.  Thank you Spirit.”

As we begin this new year, and as an activity, we can write a brief letter to our indwelling Christ, describing the good we wish to see manifest in our lives in the year ahead.  When we have completed, we then seal the letter in an envelope and put it in safe place, perhaps our Bible.  It is also good practice to write on the last day of this year, on our calendar to open it (make a note on the calendar where to find the letter as well.)

And, always, always, affirm, “By the grace and truth of God in Christ Jesus, these new God thoughts are planted in my consciousness.  They fill my life with joyous radiance of light.  I bless my life, I call forth the good in it.  I bless the good that is coming to me, and I bless all channels through which it comes.  I dedicate my energy and enthusiasm to a renewed life based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.  I go forth in joy to meet, to accept and to express my highest good.”

Now allow our hearts to fill with love and gratitude for this present moment and all the moments to come in the New Year.  Love and gratitude will raise our vibration to a new level of acceptance of the good we desire.

Happy New Year!
